Our one-hour design consultation is where every Chalk Lane project begins. It’s a focused session, either online or in person, where we take the time to properly understand your vision, your property and how you actually want to live. We listen carefully, ask the right questions and explore what’s genuinely possible within your space.
Whether you’re planning to renovate a heritage machiya in Kyoto, a contemporary apartment in Tokyo or a lakeside home in Shiga, this consultation helps us clarify the scope, your design priorities and the level of finish you’re aiming for. We’ll also speak openly about budget expectations, timelines and how our interior architecture and project management services can support you.
After the meeting, we prepare a detailed return brief outlining our understanding of your project, along with a tailored design fee proposal and a preliminary schedule for next steps. You’ll have a clear picture of what’s involved before anything formally begins.
The ¥38,000 consultation fee is fully credited towards your design package if you proceed with Chalk Lane, making it a practical and worthwhile first move.
