A serene and tactile bathroom designed to balance contemporary elegance with classic warmth.

This project reimagines a compact bathroom into a light, earthy-toned retreat, perfectly suited to the character and architecture of a traditional home. The client’s brief was for a space that felt calm, feminine, and quietly luxurious - a sanctuary grounded in natural materials and soft texture.

We selected fossilised timber and silver travertine-look tiles, pairing them with low-contrast Carrara marble to create a palette that feels both modern and enduring. The large-format tiles, laid in a herringbone pattern, guide the eye upward to create an impression of height and spaciousness within the small footprint.

To elevate the natural tones, we specified aged bronze tapware, hand-dipped in New Zealand. This unique finish complements the earthy hues of the tiles while introducing a subtle note of sophistication and depth.

The result is a bathroom that feels timeless, graceful, and deeply connected to its materials - a refined space where every surface and detail works in quiet harmony.
