An Architectural Response to a Contemporary Multi-Residential Foyer
A refined and understated redesign that celebrates form, light, and materiality.
Creating a new foyer for a multi-residential building is never simple - especially when every resident has their own vision of what it should be. To unify differing perspectives, we avoided bold colours or decorative statements and instead took an architectural approach, focusing on composition, proportion, and atmosphere.
The building itself is a contemporary structure designed by Rob Mills, an architect known for his clean, masculine aesthetic. Our design pays homage to that language, echoing his clarity of line and precision in detail. The central feature wall, composed of solid American oak panels, is softly back-lit to bring depth and warmth, while the opposing wall is clad in champagne-toned metallic panels for contrast and subtle luminosity.
Floor tiles with a gentle stone swirl complement the marmorino plaster wall that wraps around the lift, creating visual continuity and texture. The pared-back design allows every line to align perfectly, ensuring the LED backlighting delivers focus and impact exactly where intended.
The result is an elegant, architectural interior that feels calm and cohesive - a shared space elevated through balance, light, and refined restraint. It demonstrates how thoughtful detailing and material harmony can transform even the most functional areas into places of quiet sophistication.
