A light-filled, highly functional laundry designed to make everyday routines effortless - and entertaining moments surprisingly fun.

The brief was to create a bright, contemporary laundry for a growing family - practical in layout yet refined in detail. The clients wanted a clean, minimal aesthetic without the starkness of an all-white scheme. Our response was to introduce gentle texture, natural warmth, and subtle movement through custom joinery and carefully balanced materials.

A new internal wall allowed us to run floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, providing generous storage for everything from household essentials to seasonal items. Inside, every detail is considered - integrated charging points, concealed compartments, and removable baskets ensure both order and flexibility. Overhead cupboards discreetly store vases and glassware for entertaining, reflecting the room’s dual purpose as both family workspace and entertaining hub.

Opening directly to the kitchen and outdoor terrace, the laundry transforms seamlessly during gatherings - its ceramic laundry trough doubling as an ice bucket, and the bench space serving as an elegant drinks station. The compressed porcelain benchtop offers a sleek, durable surface, complemented by low-contrast timber veneer cabinetry and a handmade ceramic tile splashback that adds warmth and tactility.

The result is a space that blends practicality with charm - a laundry that works hard for the family yet feels sophisticated enough to be part of the celebration.
